The History of the Smooth Chow Chow

Germany

The first Smooth living in Germany was Ukwong Kai Lung. She was imported from a very well-known kennel out ouf Great Britan.
Kai Lung was a very beautiful girl, came to Germany in 1970 AND she was not only the first Smooth living in Germany, she was also the bitch which gave the first german Smooth!
 
Kai Lungs proud owner were Mr. Herth( kennel: vom Haus Herth). Mr. Herth got 2 litters from her (1972) and sold her later to Mrs. Sijnstra (Netherlands, kennel: Rodeza`s). Out of Kai Lung`s first litter Mr. Herth maintained Cissi vom Haus Herth. Cissi had 2 litters in her life ( 1978+1979), but none from the puppys got puppys by themselves!
 
2 years after Kai Lung moved to the Netherlands, her daughter Rodeza´s Kim Kien came to Germany in the kennel "vom Haus Herth". Unfortunately Kim Kien never got any puppys, Mr. Herth sold her to Mrs. Roth (Switzerland, kennel: ) later.
 
1985 Mr. Herth imported from the Netherlands Famke van Hilleshem. Famke got 3 litters( 1987+1988+1989). Out of Famkes second litter the family maintained Queen vom Haus Herth.
 
Queen vom Haus Herth get 2 litters( 1989+1990) Queen´s daugther Twinki vom Haus Herth moved to Mrs. Fial (Austria, kennel: vom Wiesfeld) and became the first austrian Smooth.
Tarzan vom Haus Herth continued the story of the Smooth and gave a litter of Smooth in the year 1994. One more litter were born after the Smooth Sultan vom Haus Herth in 1997.

Mr. Lothar Buchin (kennel: Smooth Recall) imported Mai-Ko-Chow´s Velvet Puk from the Netherlands in 1990.
Puk delighted Mr. Buchin in the year 1993 with his first puppys in the kennel Smooth Recall. There were 7 puppys born, 6 were Smooth.

Puk´s Tochter Aglaja Smooth Recall moved to Mrs. Kukowski (kennel: Ca-Caliban´s). Aglaja gave 7 Smooth puppys to the family in 1994. This was the beginning of an great love!!!! Mr. Kukowski were crazy about Smooth now!
As a matter of course one daugther had to stay in the house: Ca-Caliban´s Nike! Aglaja got two more litters in 1996 and 1997.
Nike got 4 litters (1996+1997 (all were rough) +2001+2002). Out of Nike´s third litter, Ca-Caliban´sQuang Lin stayed. Her first litter were born 1998!

Charlotte Haars, one of the well-known breeders in Germany (kennel: von Wursata), imported Yama Drambuie from the famous kennel Yama in Great Britain in 1994! Unfortunately Drambuie never got puppys.

1995 family Recktenwald (kennel: Yalu San)  imported Fanny Hill vom Wiesfeld from Austria. Also Fanny never had puppys on her own.

In the year 1997 family Paulke (kennel: von Altun-Shan) imported the beautiful blue girl Molboredens Smooth Hirse from Danmark, but Wikkie (as her family called her) had no litter as well. In 2000 the family imported one more Smooth girl - Samsaran Klaudiette, but Soumi never became a mother, too!

Namara van Juttersburch traveled from the Netherlands to the family Recktenwald (Zwinger: Yalu San) in 1999.

In the kennel "of the Dragon Forest" (Mrs. Bathgate) one Smooth was born in 1998. It was the only child: König Ludwig of the Dragon Forest. 2000 Mrs. Bathgate repeated this breeding and one more time there was just born an only child. König Ludwig became father of a litter Smooth in the kennel.

The first Smooth in the kennel "vom Sittardsberg" (family Kleinheisterkamp) was born in 2002. Queen Smooth of the Hearts stayed in the family.

In the year 2003 the first Smooth was born in the kennel "von Reichenberg" (family Benka), Ohna von Reichenberg stayed within the family. 2005 the second litter of Smoothies was born. One girl of this litter: Tianshi-Smooth Mei-Li von Reichenberg moved to Familie Bartzik-Schenk(kennel: Hong Tou Shan) and maybe the history of the Smooth will here continue....

In the same year the family Recktenwald (kennel: Yalu San) imported a red male from the Netherlands: Red Prince van Juttersburch.

Also in the year 2005 in the kennel "Zung Tzung Le" the first Smooth Chows were born and with this litter germanys first blue Smooth was born: Cheng Gang Zung Tzung Le!!!!!! This will not be my last Smooth litter you can be sure - I deeply fell in love with my beautiful "kennel-kids" and I wish to have more Smooth "Zung Tzung Le-grandchildren"!
